mea culpa
The usual way to begin a post after a long unexplained absence is to give a series of (usually unbelievable) feeble excuses as some sort of explication and mitigation of what is frequently just a period of sloth. I shall avoid this by simply admitting to the indolence outright.
I'm lazy. I couldn't be bothered. Deal with it.
The other responsibility from which I am going to abnegate is the reading of the (over 400) backlog in my Google Reader. I have read a few but it is now overwhelming. I quit.
If something important and/or dramatic has happened in your life, if you got married or pregnant, fell in love or died, broke a leg or found god, sorry, I missed it. My bad.
So, to a brief update of the month (or so) that was.
Christmas came, was duly celebrated, and went. The kids (except for the two overseas) came, ate me out of house and home, hogged the Foxtel, cuddled me heaps, and went.
Mum came, liked what she saw, and went off home to sell her house. YAY.
My spouse took holidays, hung around the house like a fart in a bottle, did some construction work on Mum's courtyard, annoyed me some more and then went back to work. (double yay)
My son proposed (but you knew that because I told you in my one effort of blogging enthusiasm). He spent vast fortunes on a obscenely large diamond and is as happy a pig in poop.
The Graygan is growing and the belly is swelling and all is on target for the grandkid.
Some of you out there sent me Christmas cards. It was exciting to get overseas mail (that didn't have AFPO stamps on it). Thank you muchly.
As of now, I am back on track. Buddies' journals shall be read (and commented upon) without delay. There will be updates on this page.
Christmas (and holidays and all associated) is gone and life begins again!

Yay! You've resurfaced! You know, I was here not ten minutes ago wondering if I should leave you a note saying, "COME BACK SOON, WE MISS YOU!" (Then I decided not to be a diary monitor and to just leave you alone to make up your own mind.) So, did you hear me calling you across the Nullabor? Love, R xxx
It's good to see you back! It also sounds like you had nice holidays, which is always a wonderful thing.
YAY! Welcome back! I love your honesty; it's so refreshing. I'm so glad to hear that your mom really likes what you've done for her to move in with you. Hopefully her home sells quickly, and she'll be able to move down there soon! Take care, Fi!! *HUGS*
I can't even begin to tell you how much I appreciate what you said about feeling said about your child smelling like a pub floor. Because that's exactly what it is - sad. Thank you!
Now update because I'm going to be reading!
welcome back
