the Friday that was

I woke up this morning to... actually it was yesterday morning now. Look at the time! How did it get to be so late so early?

Anyways, to begin again...

I woke up yesterday morning to brilliant sunshine. Thirty minutes later it was pissing down and it kept up all day. It is still drizzling outside between the odd squalls, hail and thunder. Where the hell did spring go?

I had to go into town for the gym. I got soaked just opening and closing the gate as I drove out and any drying out that happened on the way there was reversed getting from the car to the gym door.

It was quarterly assessment day, which I dread because I know how bloody bad I've been. I hopped on the magic scales (Todd puts numbers in and they give a printout of all sorts of stuff, not just weight) with great trepidation. I was pleasantly surprised. I had lost another 1.8kg and my body fat percentage was down another two and a bit. Woohoo.

I gave myself a good flogging on the bikes after the weight-in and did a circuit before heading off to the shops.

Thank goodness for undercover parking! I managed to arrive just in time to take over a rare vacated spot.

I had the usual list of groceries to purchase as well as some special requests to go into parcels for the-bad-place. Because I had done so well at the assessment, I bought doughnuts for myself to celebrate. MMMMM chocolate dipped doughnuts.

I came home and packed the boxes for posting. The customs' slips looked mighty weird with things like cuttlefish bones and sunflower seeds on them instead of just the usual "packaged foods". As requested, one of B's parcels was just lamingtons and Weight Watchers cordial powder. Apparently the water over there tastes like shit (despite being filtered and treated for the troops) and they do anything they can to disguise the taste. The cordial powder is the best they have found.

Another trip out to the local shop to post off the boxes got me nicely drenched again. Once I got home I refused to go out again. I stoked up the fire and snuggled in for the rest of the day.

I watched five episodes of SVU and a rerun of Billy Elliot and knitted up nearly a whole ball of 3ply.

And now I might damp down the fire for the night and go and warm up the doona. I'm going to a football game tomorrow and need to save up all the warmness I can!

And we can't get a drop of rain here if we got our knees and begged. Have only had drips since the 1st of July. And with all the heat we've had things are pretty baked. Have fun at the football game.

Congrats on continued health! You've done a great job... I'm still struggling over here in the U.S. of A. Have a great time at the game today!
