missed by some

Dizzy is sulking.

Her Dad is not home and that is poopy, so she is moping big time. She started with a few tentative long faces when the case came out. (She's not silly, she knows cases mean someone is going somewhere without her.) When her Dad's shoes were added to the contents, her worst fears were confirmed. Her Dad was going away and he wasn't taking her (because he never does). The long faces extended to a drooped tail.

She tried schmoozing on Monday night to convince him to stay. It didn't work. He left. It was time to sit facing the wall and tuck that tail right under.

She had the odd lapse yesterday. She forgot herself and barked at some school kids walking past. She ate up my breakfast toast crusts before she remembered she was poopy.

When he failed to come home last night, despite her faithful watching out the window from the back of the couch, she called in the big guns. It was hunger strike time. She even turned her nose up at chocolate!

We went for a walk last night and she was very disciplined. She refused to forget her misery even for one second. She walked but she wasn't going to enjoy it. Not a sniff or a piddle or a momentary frolic was going to mar her sulk.

She hangs fairly close to me. I guess there is no point in turning your back on people if they aren't around to notice. And, turn her back she does. She has been lying on her bed most of the morning, her nose to the corner, her arse to the world. Then I shoved them outside to mop the floors. The sulk has not lessened, just migrated to the outside table.

She will look miserable and pathetic until her Dad comes home. Bloody bullies. They are so stubborn.

Oh, poor Dizzy. She's just not going to enjoy life until her man is back. I know how that is because I deal with two of them. When Ole leaves for a few days they make EVERY ONE else suffer.

I can't get over dogs. They are the most loyal animals in the world, I think.
