3 more sleeps

It's funny. I used to look forward to weekends. It was the time the kids were home (usually with a gaggle of mates in tow). I was busy and happy during weekends.

Now, I look forward to the weekends being over. They are now an interruption to my routine.

During the week, this place is mine. I make all the decisions, all the running. At the weekend I have M home. Everything is different. My irritation levels go sky high. I resent him interfering on my patch.

Weird. I used to thrive on being needed, on being a nurturer. Now I wait for it to be over. For it to be Monday again.

Next weekend will be rather different. Next weekend I will be in Townsville. Only three more sleeps and I get to see my little Sergeant. Woohoo.

I fly out at some ridiculous hour on Thursday morning (I think it is 0005hrs) and get to Townville at just after midday. B has wangled a couple of days off so she will be at the airport to meet me.

I am so looking forward to it.

I told her to make a list of stuff she wants me to do. She has to work for 5 days of my stay so I may as well be busy. I have told her I will even paint walls! I do know that she has roped me into a glamour make-up party (exactly what that entails I have no idea) and I will be babysitting a friend's newborn while they all attend some military dinner. Other than that, nothing has yet been planned.

I still have to get myself some gear for the trip. We have somehow managed to lose our small suitcase (probably lent to a kid at some time), so I need to get a new one. I also need to get some summer clothes that actually fit me. I seem to have shrunk out of all the stuff I have (yay).

Only three more sleeps.

*does a happy dance*

I am totally busting.
