ode to snot
Mucus! Where would we be without it?
It's a cleanser. It's a lubricant (imagine sex without all that lovely slimy stuff in your vagina). It's a moisturiser. It's a filter (as is attested by all those wonderful bush boogers you produce after a weekend round a camp fire). It even gives you something to do when you are bored (I know nobody ever admits to being a nose-picker but, watch a bunch of kids some time, everyone starts out as one).
Yep, mucus is our friend. Our bodies wouldn't function nearly as well without it's assistance.
That is, until mucus turns into snot.
And phlegm. (Isn't that a wonderful word! Let's say it out loud. Phlegm.)
When mucus fails to do it's job you get sick. When it turns into nasty thick yellow stuff it is definitely not your friend. When it clogs your sinuses and fills up your lung with its yucky greenness, when it makes you hack and hoick and sneeze and splutter, it becomes very not nice at all.
At the moment, my mucus is not my friend. I have a new circle of friends. I have Kleenex and Sudafed and Panadol.
Damn T for giving me her wog!
On a more positive note, at least now I know the cause of yesterday's blahness. (Hey D Man, pass the codeine.)
BTW, do any of you smart fart HTML brainiacs out there know the code for stopping search engine spiders hitting your page?

Apparently I do not qualify as a "smart fart HTML brainiac," but I am not surprised. *wink*
I'm sending good health vibes across the Pacific and straight to you! Get well soon!!
Actually, while not an HTML brainiac, I do know the answer to this one. Put

inbetween your head tags somewhere. It should work :)
Only get rid of the spaces, it was the only way I could post it.
Hope you're feeling better soon! And Lisele is right about the code! :)
We've got something over here called Mucinex that you can buy across the counter. It works very well for getting rid of all those snotty little buggers that take up residence in your body. Just drink lots of water with it and hope you feel better soon.
